Fishing for sport

There are different places where you can fish: lakes, lagoons, bays, rivers and streams.

We can fish for various varieties of fish year round but the best months are between May and December.
Fishing a la carte is ideal for satisfying the demands of fishing groups.
You can reel in large and small fish, fighters and peaceful fish.
Techniques: deep river fishing, drift, floats, fly, etc.…
And after the catch: live or dead fish, bait, fruit, spoon or rapala, etc.
Depending on the season the group decides what to go for.
You can come and fish with us for one day or more.
We charge per person per day and there is no price difference between fishing by day or by night.

The rush of fishing

The fish in the Baures and Blanco rivers, with the exception of the tucunaré ,can reach up to 200kg.
Until now nobody has managed to reel in a fish weighing more than 40kg, and so none of these huge fish have ever been captured by a camera.
It is rocky where you go on the river Baures. The current forms whirlpools that then make large holes of about 15m deep.

To be able to catch these small and large Amazon fish, you will have to keep your wits about you, be creative and draw upon all of your experience.

We have lost many large fish because of inappropriate tackle, lines breaking or getting tangled up in the rocks.

We hope to sort this out in 2006 and catch a piraíba (brachyplathystoma filamentosum), a gigantic catfish (paulicea luetkeni) or simply an unknown species.
These large fish are usually caught at night in the rocky areas of Verdun or Orbayaya. This fishing is done from the shore, the boat or the rocks.
These places are fabulous for fishing and you’re sure to get a rush. The noises of the river, the large fish, the crocodiles, alligators, river dolphins and other fish that hunt can be deafening. Close to the river the birdsong and, at night, the growls of a jaguar are overwhelming.
